A poetisa do Norte sob a égide do “espírito feminino”
Abstract
The text focuses on some aspects of the life and work of poet Rita Souza de Abreu, or Rosália Sandoval, as she was known by newspaper readers between the 19th and 20th centuries. I choose this path above all, because Rosalia Sandoval participated in the production of women's newspapers in Maceió-AL, the type of press that I have been focused in recent years. Newspaper writers and producers are a specific theme of this research, which seeks to weave the history of female and feminist action in the field of letters and journalism in Maceió, in the second half of the 19th century. We will, therefore, deal with the first investigations and ideas developed from the analysis of the traces left in newspapers, which builds the image of a great poetess from Northern Brazil. As for the theoretical aspects, our approach is in line with feminist studies of history, as well as gender studies in an intersectional perspective (LUGONES, 2012; NICHOLSON, 2000; CRENSHAW, 2002; RUBIN, 2003).
