Abstract

This article aims to problematize relationships and articulations between the 1964 dictatorship and the University of São Paulo (USP). To do this, we start from the analysis of the novel K. – Report of a quest, by Bernardo Kucinski, and the USP administrative process 17.499/74 in 1974. Both documents make it possible to reflect on the political imprisonment of the USP chemistry professor, Ana Rosa Kucinski, who disappeared without a trace on April 22, 1974. From a careful reading of the sources collected, investigating political and dictatorial dimensions in the academic environment in the 1970s, we seek to understand broad relationships between the themes of memory, science and dictatorship, also discussing intersections between historical knowledge, literature and law.
