Geotechnologies in the Pantanal
scientific production, technical applications and socio-environmental challenges

This article analyzed the scientific production on geotechnologies in the Pantanal biome, based on papers published in journals and in the proceedings of the Symposium on Geotechnologies in the Pantanal (GeoPantanal) from 2006 to 2021. It aims to identify trends, gaps, and patterns in research focused on the conservation, management, and monitoring of the biome, recognizing the symposium as a key knowledge platform. The methodology included a contextual literature review, conceptual mapping, and semantic network analysis. Results highlight the thematic evolution, the profiles of authors and institutions, and the connection between scientific output and socio-environmental challenges. The study concluded that geotechnologies are essential for environmental monitoring and for informing public policy. It underscores the importance of scientific events in sharing knowledge and suggests strategies to strengthen integration between research, territorial management, and policy, advocating for interdisciplinary and integrated approaches to address the complex dynamics of the Pantanal biome.
