This article aims to discuss and explain the general educational character of technological education in Marxian thought. Thus, the categorical examination of the ontological significance of the means of work is sought. This analysis focuses on the objective mediations of productive activity, both in its use and, mainly, in its production by living and active social individuals. For this purpose, the critical exposition turns in detail to the part in which this theme is developed, in chapter 5 of book I of The Capital (Work Process and Valuation Process). Furthermore, the purpose is also based on the understanding outlined above to address Marxian formulations about education. The objective is, therefore, to demonstrate how Marx's statements, embodied in documents that focus on the theme in the midst of discussions about the performance of workers' movements and their political organizations, in a way, translate as a set of political directives theoretical understandings formulated in the critique of political economy.
