Abstract

This article intends to discuss the Brazilian research about teachers Professional development in 112 theses and dissertations produced in the period between 1978 and 2002. It describes, analyzes and synthesizes this production, pointing to a change in the conceptions and methods associated to that theme since the 90s, also suggesting deeper investigations about relevant issues.
