Author Biography

Rodrigo Cantos Savelli Gomes, Santa Catarina State University (UDESC) (Brazil)

Master's student in Music (Musicology-Ethnomusicology) at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and scholarship holder of the CNPq/UDESC Post-Graduation Program. Graduated in Music at the same institution, where he was for three years a scholarship student of scientific initiation. His latest researches have focused on gender relations in Brazilian music, especially in samba, rock, hip-hop and black music. In 2008 he received the 3rd Construindo a Igualdade de Gênero Award and was awarded an honorable mention for the consecutive year.
