Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present an overview of the keyboard music of Father José Maurício Nunes Garcia, his didactical and recreational destination and proposals for its use, his influences, aesthetic origins, fingering problems, dynamic, quotes and self-quotes in the Solfeggi, Lessons and Fantasias of the Compêndio e Método de Pianoforte, autorship and attribuition questions in the Peça para Piano and Modinhas.
