In our country, one can observe, albeit still in its early stages, a growing concern with the training of music teachers, and even more so, with the training of music educators. An indication of this interest is the increase in the number of undergraduate music programs, graduate programs in music education, and, without a doubt, the ever-growing number of research and publications directly focused on the reflection and practice of music education, both in regular and specialized schools. It is precisely in this context that Music Education - Proposals for Thinking and Acting, organized by Liane Hentschke and Luciana Del Ben, is situated. This book was conceived after the Teacher Training Course promoted by the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (through its Educational Training Center) in 2001 and 2002.
