Producción sonora no convencional en el xilófono
resultados de una colaboración en investigación artística

Las posibilidades tímbricas del xilófono han sido poco exploradas. A pesar de los recientes esfuerzos por promover el xilófono como instrumento solista, en la mayoría de las composiciones revisadas por los autores predomina la producción sonora convencional. La primera autora contribuyó a una investigación del segundo autor, explorando con él la producción sonora en el xilófono a través de una investigación basada en la práctica orientada a la creación musical culta. Al adentrarse en los ámbitos del otro, los autores acabaron llegando a gestos instrumentales y compositivos casi con toda seguridad inéditos en el instrumento hasta entonces. En la obra musical, estos se yuxtaponen con gestos convencionales en un flujo compositivo variado y predominantemente discontinuo, contrariamente a la tendencia en muchas de las composiciones revisadas por los autores.
