This work consists of understanding the meanings attributed to experience—in this case the ethical and aesthetic actions of two science lessons from lower elementary school, in which a terrarium was built. Guidance was sought to develop the investigation, particularly with respect to the theories of Bakhtin, Benjamin and Larrosa. The intention was to analyze how a teacher and students perceived the terrarium-building experience. Importantly. in this investigation. the terrarium lesson is presented through a dialectical process, so the experiment only finds meaning in dialogism. From this perspective, the experimental activity is not an isolated action of the individual who proposes it. The investigation refers to the need for early-years science teachers to sample the flavor of teaching science through experimentation, as the subjects of experience described by Larrosa.
