This research aims to analyze and discuss, from the literature, the difficulties faced by undergraduate professors in Accounting course and propose a research agenda. A sample of artifacts was carefully analyzed in order to identify more frequent problems. The themes most pointed out by Accounting professors were problems related to the beginning and the end of the career, such as loneliness, stress, the great number of administrative tasks and the difficulties of reconciling theory with practice. We highlighted the debate carried out by the research and the promotion of interaction between different studies, especially considering that this type of study is scarce in Brazil. The available agenda summarizes research opportunities and aims to promote further studies on the subject. Finally, it is expected that the present research contributes to the teaching of Accounting, since the difficulties faced by professors are an important variable for teaching.
