University teaching is discussed through teaching contracts, based on the pedagogical practice developed in the teaching of Didactic at the degree of Licentiate, from the State University of Ponta Grossa in 2019. The objective of this article is to reflect on this pedagogical strategy based on the theoretical understandings and examples adopted in the authors' teaching practice. Thus, it was discussed: would it be possible to unleash, in the university teaching, closer ties with students, considering a more collaborative relationship, with a view to the development of the student autonomy? The theoretical framework contemplates the definition of didactic contract emphasizing the relationship established between teacher and student with a view to learning the contents, because, when opting for didactic contracts, the planning concept moves from an one-sided practice (from teacher to students) to a relational view (teachers and students planning together). The authors consider it essential to adopt a teaching concept that involves students in building their autonomy.
