In a period of intense structural, procedural and management changes in the hospital segment, the improvement of Health Information Systems (HIS) is essential to follow and propose answers to new and complex demands resulting from organizational changes. Therefore, we propose a study that aims to analyze the HIS implications in the daily work of professionals in three Intensive Care Units (ICU) of a private hospital in Belo Horizonte. This study had a qualitative approach and data were collected through semi-structured interviews applied to the ICU professionals who use the HIS in their daily work. The Thematic Content Analysis technique was used to analyze and organize data. Results show that the HIS are routinely used to support welfare and management activities. The main difficulty observed on the use of the HIS was the lack of training of the professionals. Other important results referred to the contributions of the HIS in the daily work of the ICU's professionals. Such results show that the HIS have great implications in the routine of these professionals.Downloads
