In a home care program one must pay attention to the patient's and caretaker's necessities. It is necessary to focus the conditions which clearly and widely demand care. This study aims at identifying nursing diagnoses of patients and caretakers admitted to PROIID, according to NANDA standards. There were checked admission and discharging records of 23 patients who participated in the program. The average patients presented five diagnoses. The most frequent ones were: handicapped swallowing, physical mobility by staying in bed, verbal communication and tissue integrity. The caretakers presented diagnoses of deficient knowledge, tension and disrupted family processes. One realizes that caretakers and the elderly have complex necessities which require team systematic follow up in order to keep them in good emotional and physical conditions so caretaking may be balanced and safe.Downloads
