The exhibition “Art as Playing Game” was selected by the UFMG Cultural Center’s open call for entries and was held in February 2025 as part of the University’s 19th Summer Festival. Subsequently, it was selected to be part of the 35th UFSJ Winter Festival, taking place at the UFSJ Cultural Center and simultaneously at the Birot Gallery. It consisted of a mini retrospective of mine, featuring works gathered under the understanding of an artistic procedure conducted by games of playing: playing with other artists’ works; playing with the relationships between form and content; playing with the audience in relational works, etc. For the exhibition, I wrote this manifesto, based on Freud’s text “Creative writers and daydreaming”, in which I seek to better discuss how this relationship with playing is articulated in my creative thinking and my relationship with the art system. The text also draws references to Nietzsche, Hélio Oiticica, Boris Groys, Duchamp, and Plato.
