The graphic novels that have been published in Spain during the last years, whose theme is related to the Spanish Civil War and the Francoism years, seem to include in their narrative some elements that flexibilize both literary and comics languages. In this text we analyze how the increasing association between drawings and written words with the insertion of several other elements gives to the narratives a mosaic structure, whose fragments, as a whole, metaphorize the pieces that compose individual and collective memories from a conflict whose consequences were not limited neither to the Spanish territory, nor to the Civil War period.
