Author Biography

Margarete Arroyo, Paulista State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) (Brazil)

Graduated in Artistic Education: Music at the University of São Paulo and post-graduated in Music - Music Education master's and doctorate by the Graduate Program in Music at UFRGS. She worked as a teacher and researcher at the Federal University of Uberlândia in the Undergraduate Music Course from 1993 to 2010. At this same university she is a collaborating professor in the Graduate Arts Program - Master's Degree. She was secretary of the Brazilian Association of Music Education between 2001 and 2003. She is a member of the Research and Formation in Music Education group (CNPq) and leader of the Research Group on Musical Learning in contemporaneity (CNPq). Since August 2010 she works as a teacher and researcher at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP, Arts Institute, Music Education Undergraduate Course and Graduate Program in Music. Her research lines are: Music Education, culture and society; formal and informal Music Education; Youth and music.
