Author Biography

Flávio Terrigno Barbeitas, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil

Flavio Barbeitas is a guitarist, Bachelor and Master in Music from UFRJ, Doctor in Literary Studies from UFMG/University of Bologna (Italy), with post-doctorate in Musicology from the Universidade Nova of Lisbon. Since 1996, he teaches guitar and musicological subjects at the UFMG's School of Music at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Parallel to his didactic and artistic activities, he has a special theoretical interest in the relationship between music and literature/language and Brazilian culture in general. At UFMG, he leads two research groups: VIOrizontes - Guitaristic Artistic Researches and Núcleo de Estudos em Música Brasileira (NeMuB).
