Author Biography

  • Mara Favoretto, University of Melbourne (Austrália)

    Is a Lecturer in Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia, where she coordinates and teaches a range of Language and Culture Studies subjects. She specializes in contemporary popular culture and popular music lyrics as counter discourse in cultural crisis. Her research interests include rhetorical tropes used to encode subversive messages under the constraints of censorship and cultural expressions of resistance in Latin American society. She is the author of Alegoría e ironía bajo censura en la Argentina del Proceso (New York: Edwin Mellen Press, 2010).
