Abstract

It approaches aspects related to the chorister's preparation for choral singing. Emphasis is put on vocal warm-up and its relationship with choir performance. It includes a literature review involving different areas of knowledge that, direct or indirectly, are related to the use of the a voice and preservation of the singer's vocal health.

Author Biography

  • Juliana Grassi Pinto Ferreira, University of Itaúna

    holds a degree in Singing and a specialization in Choral Conducting from UFMG; she was a former member of the "Ars Nova" Choir of UFMG (from 1985 to 1987); conductor of the "Arte Nossa" Choir in Pará de Minas (since 1987) and the "Una Voz" Choir in Itaúna (since 1996); Director and Professor of Singing, Choral Singing, Recorder, and Music Education at the "Arte Nossa" Music School in Pará de Minas, since 1988; professor of Vocal Expression and Rhythm at the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Itaúna (since 2002).
