physical stress, string instruments, use of the bodyAbstract
The present article makes considerations upon the use of the body by string players - violinists, violists, violoncellists and bassists-as well as upon the physical stress as a consequence of instrumental activity. It approaches possible causes of the excess of tension during the musical performance, including references to the work of specialists on the subject. It also shows the results of the research "Physical stress on string players: an interdisciplinary study of the problems of the athlete-artist in Brazil's musical scene", done by the authors of this article.
