Based on information and considerations provided by Guerra-Peixe, the genesis of his work Ponteado, 1966 (renamed Prelude No. 5 in 1973), is established. The structure of the composition is examined, and some consideration is given to the notion of folkloric objectivity within the composer´s aesthetics.
