Idéias sobre genes em livros didáticos de biologia do ensino médio publicados no Brasil
Abstract
Este artigo analisa o tratamento de conceitos de gene em livros didáticos de biologia do ensino médio publicados no Brasil. Idéias sobre genes largamente aceitas pela comunidade científica, como o conceito molecular clássico, de acordo com o qual um gene é um segmento de DNA que codifica um produto funcional único, têm sido desafiadas por achados como genes interrompidos, splicing alternativo etc. Nossos resultados, obtidos por meio de análise de conteúdo categorial, mostram que o conceito molecular clássico e outras idéias atualmente controversas ainda são bastante presentes nos livros didáticos, sem que anomalias e críticas sejam consideradas. Como uma diretriz decorrente de nossa investigação, defendemos a necessidade de incluir na educação científica de nível médio uma abordagem mais rica, atualizada e epistemologicamente bem fundamentada dos genes e de fenômenos que desafiam idéias típicas a seu respeito. Para desenvolver essa sugestão, discutimos como os livros abordam o splicing alternativo, um dos principais desafios ao conceito molecular clássico.Downloads
