Projecto “Educação em biologia, educação para a saúde e educação ambiental para uma melhor cidadania”: análise de manuais escolares e concepções de professores de 19 países (europeus, africanos e do próximo oriente)
Abstract
O projecto europeu de investigação “Biology, Health and Environmental Education for better Citizenship” (BIOHEAD-CITIZEN; CIT2-CT2004-506015) tem como objectivo compreender como o ensino da Biologia, a Educação para a Saúde e a Educação Ambiental podem promover uma melhor cidadania, através da análise de eventuais diferenças entre 19 países (13 europeus e 6 não europeus), associando-os a parâmetros controlados. Neste projecto definimos seis temaspolémicos para análise: “Evolução e Origem do Homem”, “Reprodução Humana e Educação Sexual”, “Educação para a Saúde”, “Ecologia e Educação Ambiental”, “Genética Humana” e “Cérebro Humano”. Neste artigo apresentamos os objectivos deste projecto e descrevemos a construção e validação dos instrumentos de recolha de dados que foram aplicados nos 19 países envolvidos: grelhas de análise para aplicação em manuais escolares do ensino primário e secundário (5/6 a 17/18 anos de idade); e o questionário para preenchimento por professores e futuros professores do ensino primário e secundário (estes de Biologia e de Língua Nacional). A título ilustrativo, apresentamos não só alguns resultados relativos à análise dos manuais escolares dos diversos países sobre a “Evolução e Origem do Homem”, mas também uma parte da análise das concepções dos professores e futuros professores dos mesmos países sobre aquele tema. Mostramos ainda as potencialidades que a análise estatística utilizada fornece para a correlação
