Discussão e reestruturação conceitual através da interação de estudantes com as visitas guiadas do sistema hipermídia “força & movimento”
Abstract
Pesquisas realizadas ao longo de mais de duas décadas mostram que a instrução convencional em física, que prioriza o formalismo matemático, não facilita aos alunos a compreensão qualitativa dos conceitos. Contrariamente ao esperado, foi também observado que os alunos têm dificuldades para extrair informações relevantes de situações experimentais. Desta forma, a simulação de fenômenos físicos no computador, que leva em conta as concepções dos alunos, apresenta-se como uma alternativa, que tanto pode facilitar a identificação dos conceitos e relações entre eles como também ajudar à compreensão conceitual a partir do controle de variáveis e da discussão. Aproveitando o potencial educacional da hipermídia, um sistema denominado “Força & Movimento” (“F&M”, Rezende, 1996) foi desenvolvido a partir de um levantamento das dificuldades conceituais em mecânica de calouros universitários. Este trabalho apresenta resultados de uma pesquisa que investigou a interação de um grupo de calouros com as visitas guiadas do sistema “F&M”. São discutidas algumas das dificuldades conceituais dos alunos já identificadas na literatura, que reaparecem na interação, assim como a possibilidade do sistema contribuir para sua superação. Os resultados apontam para a mudança de pontos de vista na maioria dos estudantes. E, mesmo que esta não possa ser considerada como o equivalente à reestruturação conceitual, mostram que há um componente na direção do desenvolvimento conceitual, que é mais lento e gradual, (diSessa, 1988) do que apenas a comparação entre o teste e a entrevista poderia evidenciar. O fato de existirem mudanças de ponto de vista dos alunos indicou que as visitas guiadas do sistema “F&M” podem facilitar a reestruturação conceitual, servindo principalmente como um espaço de reflexão e integração de suas concepções ao conhecimento científico.
