In the first semester of the academic year 2020, we saw the suspension of the Federal University of Tocantins graduation calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context, this article aims to analyze the challenges, possibilities and difficulties of the Geography course (Araguaína Campus) in proposing training and welcoming actions for their students. For this, we collected information on the situation of students in the first months of social distance (utilizing Google forms) and their reports on the First Online Seminar of the Geography Course at UFT/Araguaína held on 08 and 09 June 2020. The results indicate the technological limitations of an unprecedented social context, culminating more in impossibilities than in possibilities of actions. The main challenge encountered was the fact that the majority of students do not have the necessary resources to monitor online activities.
