The implementation of a new management system at "Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte": describing a scenery of organizational changes

In 1996, the "Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte" Hospital implemented a Management System called SIGESC in order to: facilitate the work, optimize resources and qualify the services provided. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to describe the process of implementation of this new management system, emphasizing some proposed organizational changes. The hospital financial and administrative crisis was a determinant in the implementation of SIGESC. The creation of its own health plan aimed at generating funds and finding a balance in hospital finances. The functions were reviewed based on the administrative decentralization, forming business units, managed by nurses called: assistance managers.Downloads
