The analysis of teacher training needs is essential for diagnosis, planning and decision-making in the educational area. Teacher training needs can be defined as concerns, desires, needs and problems felt and perceived in the teaching process, representative of values arising in someone context. The aim of this paper is to discuss the results of a research that about the training needs of Science teachers from rural schools from a county of Piauí, Brazil, in between 2017 and 2018. For this, the data were collected through forms, questionnaires, interviews and documents. The subjects who contributed to the research were Science teachers and principals of rural schools, college professors and undergraduates of a Course of Licentiate of Rural Education with a focus on Natural Sciences. The analysis showed that Science teachers in rural schools had needs for better working conditions, to adopt unconventional teaching methodologies and specific knowledge in Natural Sciences. It is emphasized in the results that they also had the training needs not aware to develop contextualized teaching and knowledge about Rural Education.
