O Ensino Médio no Brasil: histórico e perspectivas

This article aims to demonstrate that the intermediate teaching in Brazil has new reality: the new plan and base of the National Education, Law nº 9.394/96 and for the edict nº 2.208797; on other hand, the international economy under the new labor international division. As it inherits conditionings from the past, the study makes explicit the duties that, historically, were assigned to the intermediate teaching in Brazil. This way, the intermediate teaching attends the debates that happened in the main points of conservative modernization and the enlargement of the spaces of a democratic citizenship.
