Abstract

This publication features a series of 12 works by Hermeto Pascoal arranged especially for children. The themes are part of the stage musical of the same name, Grandpa Hermeto's Farm, which premiered in 2023 at SESC Palladium (Belo Horizonte, MG) and has been touring cities such as São Paulo (SP) and Sorocaba (SP). Through original reconstructions and orchestrations, the arrangements are written for a percussion trio and feature the following themes: Forró Brasil, Música das Nuvens de do Chão, Boiada, O Ovo, Papagaio Alegre, Santo Antônio, Bebê, Entrando pelos Canos, Viva Jackson do Pandeiro, São Jorge, Bem Vinda and Caminho do Sol. This is an unprecedented contribution to the children's and percussion repertoire, with reference to an icon of instrumental music.
