Abstract

The objective of this study was to understand the management of mental health care from the perspective of the health care network. This is a
qualitative study that used Grounded Theory (GT) as theoretical reference. The sample consisted of 27 health professionals distributed in three
sample groups. Intensive interviews were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed by means of initial and focused coding and were
organized using the NVIVO®10 software for qualitative analysis. Three emergent categories and 11 subcategories were generated. The results showed
that mental health care management is permeated by difficulties of communication and articulation between the services that make up the
health care network. In order to articulate the health services, the professionals need to improve their knowledge in the area of mental health and
put effective matrixing into practice.
