Abstract

The article interwaves discourses on Barnett Newman’s exposition The Stations of the Cross. Lema sabachtani (1966). The working hypothesis is that the poetic gesture had been closely displaced to the artwork formation process with the concept of Pathosformeln, despite engaging with abstraction, allowing to put this reception by art criticism at the time then in another theoretical perspective.

É Professora Adjunta 2 na Área de Teoria e História da Arte do Departamento de Artes Visuais do Instituto de Artes da Universidade de Brasília (desde 2010), atuando também na Pós-Graduação. Coordena o Laboratório de Teoria e História da Arte - LaTHA/VIS/IdA/UnB. Doutora e Mestre em Arte Contemporânea na Linha de Pesquisa Teoria e História da Arte (PPGArte-VIS/IdA/UnB), lecionou em universidades em São Paulo e Brasília desde 1993.
