In this interview with Cao Guimarães conducted by videoconference on September of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic period, we asked him about his artistic trajectory, his creative processes and how he was living at the period of isolation that took place around the world. He shared a bit of his trajectory within the arts, creative processes and stories that exemplified his creative and philosophical experimentation. Still, he reported a little about his researches for film production process that he baptizes as “Cinema de Cozinha” (kitchen cinema) that presents a certain search for a more artisanal cinema, made of plans that articulate and function as blocks of space-time, exploring concepts of devices and “games” that he creates and submits to in his films. The interview also points out signs of how he seeks to find his ways and ways of making a film in the midst of the chaos, chance and unforeseen events of reality.
