This article examines the contribution of Martín Fierro magazine to the consolidation of the artistic field, especially that of the vanguards, in Argentina, during the 1920s. The texts on plastic arts and the reproductions of works in the publication allow us to draw a panorama of the artistic production in the period and to perceive the interpretations and the impact of avant-garde art on the public of Buenos Aires. The aim is to understand how modern art is received by Argentinians, the pedagogical role played by Martín Fierro in teaching the public how to appreciate and understand this art, and his initiatives to promote artists, spaces and institutions.
