Staphylococcus aureus strains from the milk of cows with subclinical mastitis and phenotypically resistant to antimicrobials of the beta-lactam class were tested for capacity to produce biofilm. Was carried out cultivation and analysis in Congo Red Agar (CRA) was carried out and Plate Adhesion Test (AEP). The association between CRA and AEP and the association of each test with the frequency of potentially biofilm-producing strains resistant to beta-lactams was also evaluated. As a result, 65.2% (15) of the 23 isolates tested positive for biofilm formation in CRA and 60.86% (14) in AEP. There was no association between the results of CRA and AEP tests, nor was there an association with the beta-lactams antimicrobials resistance (RBL) test. There was an association between the AEP and RBL tests. It is considered that the ability to form biofilms is a powerful resistance mechanism and emphasizes the importance of microbiological control in production
