La relación entre la Música y Atención

fundamentos, pruebas neurocientíficas y rehabilitación

Resumen

El presente artículo presenta un estudio sobre la relación entre la atención y la música, a partir de una revisión de los estudios en las áreas de la musicología cognitiva, las neurociencias y la musicoterapia en el ámbito de la música y la atención. El texto está dividido en tres secciones que agrupan una revisión de estudios relacionados: (a) Fundamentos teóricos sobre la atención y la música; (b) Pruebas neurocientíficas sobre la atención y la música; (c) Aplicaciones terapéuticas de la música en la atención.  Los estudios de musicología cognitiva demuestran que las agrupaciones perceptivas y las expectativas son factores determinantes para el reclutamiento de las distintas dimensiones de la atención. Los exámenes de neuroimagen, las pruebas neuropsicológicas y los estudios sobre la sincronización rítmica añaden pruebas neurocientíficas sobre la fuerte relación entre la música y la atención. Las pruebas presentadas en este estudio demuestran que la música puede utilizarse en un contexto terapéutico con efectos beneficiosos para las personas con problemas de atención o como recurso para desviar la atención de sensaciones dolorosas o situaciones estresantes.

    Doctora en Neurociencias por la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (2019). Máster en Música por la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (2015). Tiene Especialización en Metodologías Innovadoras Aplicadas a la Educación con especificidad en Educación Especial por la Facultad Internacional de Curitiba (2005), Licenciatura en Música por la Escuela de Música y Bellas Artes de Paraná (2004), Licenciatura en Musicoterapia por la Facultad de Artes de Paraná (2003) y Curso Técnico de Piano por el Conservatorio Brasileño de Música (1997). Es profesora adjunta de la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais, miembro de la comisión del Foro de los Trabajadores de FETSUAS-MG y miembro de la comisión del Estatuto y Reglamento Interno de la UBAM. Tiene experiencia en musicoterapia, educación musical, educación especial, violencia doméstica, geriatría y desarrollo de instrumentos de evaluación en el contexto de la musicoterapia.
