This paper reports and analyses the way the Federal University of Minas Gerais UFMG has submitted its accession proposal to the Program Reuni (Program of Support to Federal Universities’ Restructuring and Expansion Plans), has organized the continuing education of its lectures and the initial education of its masters and PhD students to assist in the undergraduate teaching activities and compose the didactic teams. Whereas the new expansion and restructuring framework has demanded new methodological and technological measures, the need arose to record the moment of changes within UFMG scenario, organized into the following topics which make this work: preceding events to Reuni and its development context; Reuni and its general guidelines; the process of implementing Reuni at UFMG; the accession proposal to Reuni developed by UFMG; the creation of GIZ - Undergraduation Practices Development Network; and GIZ actions to meet the demands of Reuni. Finally, some considerations were presented such as the ascertainment that the implementation of Reuni at UFMG, from 2008 to 2012, has occurred overcoming the expected difficulties and the confirmation that GIZ has met the current needs regarding the commitment undertaken by UFMG when accessing Reuni, with actions inherent to the new pedagogical-administrative management and lectures training measures.
