In this article, we shall deal with some performance issues brought by the number of music editions on Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). The unrestricted access to the first editions at internet, altogether with the possibilities brought by historical approaches have expanded the established guidelines for his music and have brought more flexibility to some topics of their performance practice, such as phrase structuring, touches, tone, fingering, pedaling, rubati and ornamentations.
