This analysis of Lucien Capet’s (1873–1928) La Technique Supérieure de l’Archet (1916) aims at showing how current and relevant this work is for the fundamental approach of the right hand technique of the violinist training. The main ideas are highlighted such as the construction of technique and its relation with current violin teaching. This analysis is preceded by a contextualization of Lucien Capet’s importance in relation to the violinism scene of the twentieth century by briefly describing his trajectory.
