This paper includes preliminary analysis of the artworks Questions (2021) and Poéticas
populares (2016-2021) by the Salvadoran artist Abigail Reyes. The objective of the paper is
to analyze the relationships of the works with the urban space, be it in the American or
Latin American context, and its reverberations in the collective memory and in the
understanding of the territory and the social fabric. For this, Questions (2021) and Poéticas
populares (2016-2021) will be described probably from the records of the same and
fragments of interviews with the artist. In turn, the works are analyzed in the light of
decolonial studies with authors such as Adolfo Alban Achinte, Ramón Grosfoguel and
Nelson Maldonado-Torres as well as Memory Studies. Finally, relationships are found
between Questions (2021) and Poéticas populares (2016-2021) and their reverberation with
the urban territory.
