This article is a report of teaching experience by the authors, describing their thoughts on the theoretical and philosophical bases of teaching models. They discuss the teacher's role from the point of view of education for the future, demonstrating the limits and challenges imposed on teaching practice. The experience of the authors as recently qualified nurses, teachers seeking qualification in master's and doctoral courses, shows the need to widen discussions towards educational practice which includes a critical view, reflection and transformation.Downloads
