Digital archives in dance
Interrogating and building coreographic memories

This article reflects upon the creation and maintenance of digital archives in dance in Brazil, seeking to understand the procedures of documentationand filing, as well as questioning the uses and purposes of such archives. It examines projects developed in Europe, North America and in Brazil. By giving visibility to dance in easily accessible technological and media supports, digital archives can favor new audiences and contribute to the construction of memories of the Brazilian scene, expanding the understanding of the cultural role played by dance in Brazil.
