Abstract

The relationships between parents and their children configure a specific part of the relationship between generations, as they occur on the nucleus of the family, which is a social institution linked together by dependency, responsibility and emotional bounds. In an analysis that articulates contributions from sociology and psychology, we reveal how these songs show different moments of the process, with their contradictions, through which the youth conquers maturity and autonomy. We also show how these songs reflect the social transformations on the configuration of the family and sexual behavior. We also discuss, based on the typology proposed by TATIT, how these songs deal differently with the relationship between lyrics and melody.
