Contribuições dos Esquemas Argumentativos de Walton para análise de argumentos no contexto do Ensino de Ciências

Os temas ligações químicas e interações intermoleculares foram ensinados a estudantes do ensino médio através de ensino fundamentado em modelagem. Foram realizadas entrevistas envolvendo um problema científico e um cotidiano antes e após o ensino por modelagem para avaliar a argumentação dos estudantes. Os protocolos de entrevista foram baseados no trabalho de Kuhn. O instrumento de análise dos argumentos se baseou nos 60 esquemas argumentativos propostos por Walton e colaboradores. Os 118 argumentos expressos pelos estudantes foram classificados em 27 esquemas argumentativos. Concluímos que os argumentos se relacionavam diretamente ao contexto no qual eles foram formulados e que as atividades de modelagem influenciaram na argumentação científica dos estudantes. Defendemos a viabilidade do uso dos esquemas argumentativos de Walton para analisar argumentos em relação tanto à ênfase atribuída por Kuhn às evidências genuínas quanto à distinção dos componentes do argumento segundo o padrão de Toulmin. Sugerimos utilizar os esquemas argumentativos de Walton para analisar a atuação de professores em sala de aula a partir da classificação dos tipos predominantes de argumentos utilizados por eles.
